Unannounced and unreleased, Sunman is believed to have started out as a port of the arcade game Superman by Taito. Then for what ever reason probable Sunsoft losing the rights or never having the right to Superman in the first place Sunman was born.

The prototype was bought from Armyx (eBay ID) in Spain who had many prototypes by TheRedEye who dumped and released the rom publicly.

Since then the prototype has been sold on to collector Jason Wilson (DreamTR).
