The Lion King or Super
Lion King as it is also known is a pirate Famicom
port of the cross platform Lion King game. It was
released on the SNES, Genesis (Mega Drive), PC and
yes even the NES (in Europe).
With the quality control, beta testing etc Nintendo
games go through you would except the licensed NES
version by Virgin to be better than some Hong Kong
pirate version right?. Wrong the NES version we got
in Europe was a disgrace and most likely why it never
hit shelves in the US.
Alright enough about how bad the NES version is what
makes this version better you ask?
Well just look at the screen shots, the graphics a
very good with lots of detail and good use of colour.
The game also runs about double the speed of the NES
version which makes it a lot less frustrating if you
miss a jump or die and have to start from the beginning
of a level. The sounds and in game music is also an
improvement over the NES version.
In conclusion if you like this game on other platforms
it's worth tracking down. |
