Robert
Budrick (rbudrick) known by some of you from various
forums has kindly spend a lot of time translating a
Japanese Famicom Disk System (FDS) Copy Tool manual
to English. In this manual it explains to you how to
modify your disk drive to remove protection allowing
you to use software such as FDSLoadr
to backup and rewrite your disks.
If you have two Famicom Disk Systems it also shows you
how to connect them together. Allowing you take the
software from the first system and copy it to a disk
in the second system.
The guide can be downloaded from this
page. Please note that they are all the same guide just
in different formats and sizes (the bigger the better
the quality). |

Good news
for NES enthusiasts Kevin Horton (kevtris) the genius
behind the CopyNES
has finally started to take orders. You can buy a CopyNES
in kit form for $45 plus shipping (instructions here)
or get kev to install it for you which is $125 plus
shipping (you need to supply your own NES).
Personally I have bought two kits and plan to order
more if Kev does not sell out. This may be your only
chance to get a CopyNES so I suggest you do the same.
:)
For those of you that do not know the CopyNES is basically
a toaster NES with the ability to hook it up to your
computer (using DOS only currently).
It allows you to read and write saves, backup games
(great if you are a collector and own undumped raritys),
repair Game Action Replays (GAR) with dead batteries
and lots more which is way over my head.
Note the CopyNES does not allow you
to play roms from your PC on your NES.
If you wish to order Kev's contact details are on this
page.

It has
finally happened after well over two years without a
single update Simplynes is back from the dead. Now I
could make up excuses why there hasn't been any updates
like I was too busy or that I have lost interest. But
those would be lies the truth is I am just very lazy.
:)
Quite a lot has happened over the last couple of years
and although I haven't updated the online site I have
been working on the offline site on and off for quite
a while.
My collection has grown quite a bit the two most exciting
are probable a Zelda II prototype
which I got last week and Over
Horizon prototype (NTSC so technically unreleased
YAY) which I have had for quite a while now. Also I
bought the Mr. Gimmick prototype some of you may have
seen on eBay. But I haven't got around to doing a page
for that yet.
I have updated and rewritten almost every page on the
site so too many updates to list here. Just have a browse
around. :)

Got
a new prototype for the collection a few months ago.
Formula 1 Sensation the
European exclusive, it is slightly different to the
released version. It seems that the game was originally
going to be called Formula 1 Sensation Race with the
Devil. This was later changed, no doubt thanks to censors
at Nintendo not liking the word"devil".
