Sharedata
well known for their low cost TV show games in the
mid to late 1980s for both the C64 and PC. Some of
the Commodore 64 games they released were Family
Feud, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Wipe Out.
For PC Avoid the Noid, Starquake
and Family Feud.
Sharedata started American Game Cartridge Inc (AGCI)
in 1989 their first unlicensed NES game was Chiller
programmed by Richard Frick. Chiller
is a zapper game where you shoot zombies and other
dead things overall not a bad game then came Shockwave
and Death Race,
Shockwave is a
bolder dash type puzzle game and Death
Race a Racing/Shooting game.
After this AGCI went bust around 1992 their second
zapper game Crossbow and Wally Bear No Gang both went
unreleased. Not long after the death of AGCI American
Video Entertainment (A.V.E) released Wally Bear No
Gang but unfortunately Crossbow never saw the light
of day due to the fact that it was unfinished when
AGCI went bust and either they did not give the source
code to A.V.E or they did but A.V.E chose not to finish
and release it.
Recently two very interesting AGCI cartridges have
been found by collectors Wally Bear No Gang! owned
by TheRedEye
in a AGCI case with a never before seen label the
case contains one EPROM the game itself is the same
as the A.V.E release. The second being a Chiller in
a Color Dreams case with a ShareData label, the PCB
is also by Color Dreams. I guess ACGI bought enough
cases and PCB's from Color Dreams to do a trial run
but then went ahead and got their own cases and PCB's
made.
